Programme Manager (New Volunteers)
About the Role
Please note this is Fixed Term contract for 18 months.
As a Programme Manager (New Volunteers) at St John Ambulance, you will be responsible for leading a programme to ensure that St John has effective and efficient processes, systems and culture for the training and mobilisation of adult volunteers.
This is a key role within the Volunteering team and you will be involved in streamlining and improving the journey for our new volunteers so they have a positive experience and are able to volunteer in a shorter timescale.
You will work closely with the Operations, HR and Training teams to develop and implement process changes that supports the organisation’s drive to increase our adult volunteer impact in communities and improve the volunteer experience in St John.

Ideally, you will have previous experience of working with volunteers and managing change, however, we are looking for someone with experience of complex process improvement, who is passionate about people and effecting positive change within communities. You will have experience of managing relationships with a diverse stakeholder group and be confident in communicating with people at different organisational levels.
You will need to be able to work flexibly and travel across England.
St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, providing first aid, keeping people safe at events and working alongside the NHS in response to 999 calls. Much of our front-line delivery is provided by our dedicated and highly-trained volunteers.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of people, many of them under 18, also learn how to save a life through our training, education and youth programmes.
